Syston Methodist Church are running our first ever Sportive on Saturday April 30th 2016.
It is a beautiful ride around the Leicestershire Wolds, including some really lovely quiet roads. While it is not flat the climbs are not very long and we are being generous with the time allowances so that it should be achievable even if you think you are going to walk up the steeper climbs.
The British Cycling online entry is now closed but you can enter at the start for £35 Please arrive before 9am so we can register you.
Here is the route which will be very clearly marked on the day. You should not need to worry about a map or gps. We will also be giving out a simple route list. There will be 3 indoor refreshment points on the way (Hoby, Long Clawson and Barrow-on-Soar Methodist Churches). All have “proper” toilets, there will be hot and cold drinks as well as food (cake/bananas plus sandwiches at Long Clawson). We will have volunteers to watch over your bikes so you do not need to carry locks.
We start and finish at Syston Methodist Church with indoor, monitored bike parking. At the end there will be a cream tea. Before and after there will also be hot and cold drinks.
All the food and drink is included.
Going to be great fun!
The ride will be raising money to support “The Hub” and “Syston Youth Cafe” both community projects of Syston Methodist Church.
If you want the route for your GPS then it is available on Strava here (updated version).
