42 Bikes: Life, the Universe and Bikes

Quietly getting on with it

So my blogging here has been a bit quieter here for a while.

It is not because I have stopped riding or fallen out of love with my Bike for Life :-)

I have been writing more on my more general 42 blog and I have just been getting on with everyday use of my bike for getting around Syston, Leicester and the area.

Anyway just thought I would say hello :-)

Rode out to Thurmaston on Friday – surprisingly short ride and how useful is Catherine Street, obviously an old route because it rises on a steady gradient for comfortable climbing for a waggon and horses – ideal for cycling and not a main road. Hope you enjoyed Oxford(?) Brompton Hire arrives there shortly.

      Hi Dave,

Oxford is nice but very cold :-) (Just finding out today that Coventry Cathedral is even colder!)

Catherine Street is ok but gets very clogged up in rush hours which makes it tricky, but a lot faster than the back streets that are marked as the cycle route.

More and more I simply use the Melton Road (the cycle routes by the Soar are either flooded or thick mud after floods), it is bar far the most direct route for me.

    Hi Dave
Just felt that the awesome Warnock system must be in stand by mode. Gathering strength?
Good to have web fellowship. Every blessing. Love to you all from us all. Murray
